Teachers VS Tutors - What is the difference?

The major difference between teachers and tutors is that teachers work in schools and deliver the national curricula at a pace that fits most students. Teachers often work with 30 or more students in each class. Each school has its own plan of how to get through the curricula in the 3-years given (Y9-11). A teacher is responsible to teach, managing classroom behavior, ensuring progress, setting homework, marking the end of term/end of year test, and predicting grades among other important roles. A tutor helps individual students to build on the curricula set out in the individual schools in a more flexible and individual way. Tutors help students understand and develop knowledge either on individual bases or in a small group. Tutors help fill in the gaps in the knowledge or help with specific skills that students did not understand the first time in school.

Most teachers have teaching qualifications. There are no requirements for tutors to have qualifications though most tutors have teacher qualifications and teaching experience.
