Now that Spring is in full swing and the flowers are in blossom, it is the business end for those students progressing through their KS4 GCSEs. The final push to make the last few years count. With that in mind, I am happy to release this term's AQA Physics curriculum for Tuesdays at St Margarets Church, Putney. We look forward to seeing you all then and don't forget your books & calculators.
If you are interested in attending our AQA classes, or private lessons, or just have any questions please get in contact HERE

18/04 |
Intro - Electrical Circuits
|
Identify circuit symbols. Draw circuit symbols. Explain what different components do. |
25/04 |
Calculating current |
Describe charge, current and potential difference and their symbols and units. Calculate charge flow. Calculate current and time using the charge flow equation.
|
02/05 |
Current in a circuit |
Describe series and parallel circuits and components. Explain patterns in current in series and parallel circuits.
|
09/05 |
Ohm's law |
Describe Ohm’s law in words and an equation. Calculate the potential difference using Ohm’s law. Rearrange the equation to calculate different quantities.
|
16/05 |
Resistance in a circuit |
Describe how to calculate the total resistance in series circuits. Explain that the total resistance in parallel is less than the resistance of the smallest individual resistor. Explain why adding resistors in series increases the total resistance whilst adding resistors in parallel decreases the total resistance.
|
23/05 |
Mains electricity |
Recall the main features of mains electricity (frequency, current, voltage) Explain the difference between A.C. and D.C. Explain why A.C. is used for mains electricity.
